Results
After implementing the described design, we were able to build up an electricity monitoring and control system. The Figure to the right shows the hardware setup for our project. Its corresponding communication protocols have been illustrated in our github repository. In the class presentation, we have shown that if we click the ON/OFF button on the webapp, the 25W light bulb would change its status and the corresponding meter would also change its readings. This can be reviewed in the demo video in the next tab.

Meanwhile, the data was also sent to the ThingSpeak cloud, and we can visit the cloud through Internet to search the accumulated data, which is currently the power consumption. It is rather useful since one could view the data anywhere in the world through internet. With historical data you can determine whether or not to expand generation. You can also analyze historical usage for billing resolution or grid stabilization optimization.
